Parrish is on the northern bank of the Manatee River. The Manatee River flows from eastern Manatee County all the way to the Gulf of Mexico. Residents and visitors enjoy several pristine bodies of water, and some of the best fishing in the world. Not long ago, Parrish was made up primarily of citrus groves. While many of the groves have been sold and developed, you can still find tasty, home-grown Florida citrus quite easily in Parrish. Despite a continuing shift toward suburban status, Parrish still retains much of its rural and agricultural character, and probably always will! Parrish may be the Tampa Bay area's best kept secret.
We still have a large number of old fashioned dirt roads! But don't let that detract you - Parrish is centrally located between the Bradenton/Sarasota, St. Petersburg, and Tampa markets, allowing residents to enjoy quiet country living with modern conveniences close by. One of the first places people want to visit when they come to our area is the famous Prime Outlets, just a short drive down the road in Ellenton.
